About Aleph

Built by people who have written the safety file themselves.

Aleph is a South African compliance platform for occupational health and safety. It is operated by Aleph Safe (Pty) Ltd and built and maintained by Aleph Technologies (Pty) Ltd.

The practice behind it

Aleph is led by a safety practitioner with over 20 years in safety management, working in 19 countries. That work includes major mining operations and large OHS construction projects here in South Africa.

Why it exists

Two things go wrong in South African safety compliance, and they go wrong constantly.

The first is documentation. A method statement, a risk assessment and a safe work procedure are required before work starts. They get written from scratch every time, usually by someone who would rather be on site, and usually by adapting whatever was used on the last job. That is how a document referencing the wrong regulation ends up in a live safety file.

The second is the record. A client asks for your LTIFR at pre-qualification and the number does not exist yet. Three years of incidents and man-hours then get reconstructed from a spreadsheet, a payroll export and somebody’s memory, in the days before a tender closes.

The record you cannot produce is the tender you do not win.

Built for South African law

Aleph is written against the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 and the Construction Regulations. It was not adapted from a system designed for another country’s rules.

Working across 19 regulatory regimes made the case for that focus. A platform built to cover every jurisdiction serves none of them properly, and the OHS Act and the MHSA are specific about what a file has to contain. Documents are generated from 2,000+ real South African compliance precedents, so the output reads like practice rather than a template.

Two products, one record

Each works on its own. Together, they cover the file.

Control tracks the safety record and Safe writes the documentation behind it.

Aleph Safe

Method statements, risk assessments and safe work procedures, generated for your scope of work and referenced to the legislation that applies to it.

Aleph Control

How your data is treated

Incident data is evidence.

It is often the first thing a client’s auditor asks about. Every table is protected by row-level security, so a company can only ever read its own records. That is enforced by the database rather than by the application.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never used to train external AI models. Our POPIA commitments set out the detail.

Try it on your own site data.
